Just days before Kanye is set to hit the stage at this weekend’s Governors Ball in New York — where he’ll undoubtedly play something off his new album, Yeezus – fans are getting a few insider details about the upcoming release, including the first small studio version taste of “New Slaves.”
Though fans have had a chance to hear the new track on Saturday Night Live (and possibly projected on a building), this short snippet — clocking in at approximately 1:18 — is the first leak of the album’s official recording from the album, out June 18 on Island Def Jam. Kanye’s new album is certainly shrouded in secrecy. Few know what really went down in that Paris studio. But in a recent interview with Rolling Stone, Daft Punk revealed they had worked with the rapper.
“It was very raw,” Daft Punk’s Thomas Bangalter explained of one specific studio session with West. “He was rapping – kind of screaming primarily.”
